Transforming Lives with Dignity and Care: Nadawa Community Receives New Ablution Block

2 June 2025 | Nadawa, Nasinu, Fiji

In a heartwarming show of faith, unity, and compassion, the Anglican Missions—on behalf of the
Diocese of Polynesia—officially handed over a newly constructed ablution block to the small but
vibrant community of Nadawa. Though made up of just 11 households, this community now stands
at the forefront of improved sanitation and dignity, thanks to this life-changing project.

The facility, which includes two ablution blocks, is more than just a structure—it’s a symbol of
health, hope, and human dignity. Before its blessing and opening, a short but meaningful training
was conducted by the Project Manager. This session was a Talanoa workshop with the respective
households sharing essential knowledge on sanitation, hygiene, and the ongoing care and
maintenance of their new facility—ensuring that its benefits will be long-lasting.

Representing the Most Rev. Sione Uluilakepa, who was away on official travels, Archdeacon Orisi led
the blessing ceremony with heartfelt prayers and thanksgiving. The blessing signified not only the
physical completion of the project but also the spiritual covering and commitment of the Church to
walk alongside even the smallest of communities.

This project reflects the mission of the Anglican Church in action—bringing practical change,
grounded in faith and love. This was held on the 2nd of June, 2025 marking not only a new facility
but a renewed sense of dignity and unity. Acknowledging the elders of the Community, Respective
members and staff of the Diocese of Polynesia and Anglican Missions who contributed towards this
project and all loyal supporters who contributed financially or in kind to make this project possible.
