Archbishop’s Visit to the Vanua Levu & Taveuni Episcopal Unit

Siberia Worship Centre & Lay Ministers’ Training

June 2025

Archbishop Sione Ulu’ilakepa journeyed to the North with Co-Vicar General Revd Orisi Vuki, Revd Salacieli Koroi of St. John the Baptist Theological College (SJBTC), and Mrs. Esther Cola from the Trust Office to connect with local communities and listen to their concerns at the grassroots level. This visit was part of the Archbishop’s ongoing commitment to strengthen pastoral care, build relationships, and ensure the voices of smaller parishes and worship centres are heard within the wider Diocese.

Mrs. Esther, representing the Trust Office, addressed land and infrastructural queries, providing clarity on property matters and future development opportunities. Revd Koroi led valuable sessions on Lay Ministers’ training, equipping local leaders with practical skills and theological grounding to support their parishes more effectively. Revd Vuki and Archbishop Ulu’ilakepa engaged directly with parishioners, hearing firsthand about the challenges faced by these communities—ranging from resource needs to sustaining vibrant worship and mission.

Their trip concluded with a joyful fellowship gathering in Naviavia, where members came together for prayer, sharing, and talanoa. This time of connection not only strengthened bonds within the church family but also affirmed the shared commitment to work collaboratively for mission, growth, and unity across the Diocese.
